I found this great hobby called radio back in the ,1970's when I still fallowed hockey I wanted to get a score of a leaf game. I new I needed 1430 CKFH but on the way to 1430 I heard many other stations. So a few nights later I started my first list of stations 25 to 30 that first try. This has grew to 1050 stations as of 1-12 -03.

Then my next steps in the hobby came in 1975 when I went on the c.b.radio as Marshall Dillin talking local and Dxing as unit 101 working many stations in the U.S.A. I was able to work and confirm 71 countries on 11m. Including Morocco ,Gibraltar Greenland Ukraine Zimbabwe and many more.

Going back to the 1980 to 84 time slot I took two steps in the hobby getting into swling listening to HCJB radio Moscow Radio Australia and many others and even the odd pirate on 7415khz. Also getting my first scanner. Quickly I found inversions on vhf low band and began dxing and local stations . The winter dx on 42mhz was from California Highway Patrol, summer was southern, mid western state troopers. Also on 37& 39 mhz I have heard county sheriffs and local p.u.c. type stations and a lot of other things.

Then in the fall of 1995 I started my Amateur radio classes at C.N.I.B. Ottawa passing in April 1996 on air in August 96 as VE3TXT working mostly 80m &40 meter band playing swler on other bands until the fall of 92 when I got over the major mike shyness and started dxing and net controling on ontars & tpnet. To this point all most 5000 contacts 237 countries worked 227 confirmed DX.C.C award 200 countries. I will not let myself get drawn into picking out the rarest country because I have so many islands . It’s hard to pick just one.

Over the years I have achieved many awards swling, c.b. dxing and ham dxing including 6 Canadian Provinces awards ontario counties award 1997 ODXA dx challenge top score on ham bands ,1998 dx challengwe 54 countries 11m and many others
