Trans Provincial Net...Towns & Cities Award

All amateur radio stations are invited to visit by radio Canadian amateur radio stations in Towns and Cities throughout Canada and earn points for the Trans Provincial Net Canadian Towns and Cities Award.

Commencement Date: Dec. 01 2003
All logged contacts must be after this date.


 There are two ways to work on this award, the simplfied method or the bonus point method.

Rules for method 1

The simplfied method....Log 100, 200, or 300 different towns or cities across Canada to earn the bronze, silver or gold award. One Point for each town or city. Each town or city can only be logged once with this method.
 

Rules for method 2:

  • contacts to towns and cities in your province.............1 point
  • contacts to adjoining provinces.................................2 point
  • contacts to next removed provinces..........................3 points

  • and so on up another point the further you go east or west.
  • North West Territories...........1 point from adjoining province
  • Labrador..............................1 point from Nfld.
  • Nunavut.............................10 points
  • USA & DX countries can "adopt" the nearest Canadian Province as "home"

  • i.e.  NY-ONT....MASS-QUE....WASH-B.C.....UK-NFLD.....JA-B.C.
Examples:
ONT. to QUE. or MAN............................2 points
ONT. to NB or SASK..............................3 points
ONT. to PEI or ALTA..............................4 points
Ont. to NS or BC....................................5 points
Ont. to NFLD. or Yukon...........................6 points
Ont. to Yellowknife (NWT)(ALTA. 4 + 1 )...5 points
B.C. to NFLD. or reverse.......................10 points
Bonus points  (both ways):
 
  • Portables, Mobiles, Islands..................................1 point
  • Marine, Air, Bike, Pedestrian Mobiles...................5 points
  • Portables outside Canada to be considered as Home Base.
  • Portables inside Canada count as a New Province.
  • 1st. QSO to each town or city   ................................1 point
  • QSO with RAC, ARRL, Clara, ARES, NTS members...1 point
  • QSO with a members of a radio club..........................1 point
  • QSO with CPA award holders....................................2 points
  • QSO with VE/VA's in another language, both ways.....1 point
  • Special Event Stations..............................................5 points


Any Band....Any Mode....No QSL cards reqiured....Towns or Cities may be contacted several times but stations may only be worked once per band, per mode. Net checkins acceptable.

Total of 100 points for Bronze Award,  200 points for Silver Award,  300 points for Gold Award
