This is a picture taken at the "Chicken Junction Turkey Pluckers and Hog Callers Annual Picnic" at Elora Gorge. Maybe you have heard about it. Lloyd and I organized it and it turned out to be a great success as far as attendance and having fun. We had it 5 different years and then I guess we just could not do it anymore. I still have the complete list of all the hams that attended. Boy, a lot of them are now silent keys, including Lloyd and his xyl. Those were great days on ham radio. Here are a few that attended. They would see who could register first and get a low number. Jonesy VE3TC got in first 2 years in a row with number 1. He would register on Jan.1st. Following him the first year was Diz, at that time his call was VE3FWS (fuzzy white squirrel), then VE3ZH-Jim-radio inspector. Coming in third was Hal VE2CI from Montreal. Next was Herb- VE3BFG from Port Colborne followed by Hal-VE3GQ from Port Credit. Then came good old Dave VE3AW from Toronto. That is just a very small smattering of the hams that attended, of course there were many SWL'S as well. I sure would like to back to those days, so many of the gang now
operating up above or wherever.Lee-VE1WP X VE3VF
